Sadly, for grocery stores, quality often comes second to price. They sell more products that are imported, previously frozen or include additives to add water weight and extend shelf life. (Many retailers sell shrimp and scallops previously soaked in sodium tri-polyphosphate, a chemical used in laundry soap. Rinse them and watch the suds form.)

Everything we sell comes from strictly controlled fisheries that maintain a sustainable resource. It comes straight to us from the largest full-line processor and distributor of more than a thousand fresh, frozen, smoked and specialty seafood items in the Southeast. That's almost as fresh as if you were sitting at a dockside restaurant in Boston!

Grocery stores just can't get their seafood that fast. Theirs goes from the processor, to the grocery warehouse, then onto a truck to the store. By that time, our seafood is already on your table.
