Walleye from Canada- Every Mid-Westerners Favorite Fish! 
Walleye are generally considered one of the best fresh water fish. (Move over Rainbow Trout.) The fillets are prized for being thick, fine-flaked, and succulent, with a sweet and mild flavor. 
 
They are native to most of Canada and the northern United States, particularly Minnesota and Wisconsin. Most of the commercial catch comes from the Canadian waters of the Great Lakes.
