Steelhead, Coho and Red Snapper on the Grill

Hey Y'all,

Happening Saturday

No tacos this weekend. Instead we are stepping up our game and trying something new.

Blackened Red Snapper

with Pineapple Jalapeno Salsa and Cilantro Lime Rice

As a promotional offer this weekend we are giving you a great deal on an expensive fish, only $21.99!

Catch to Go

Catch to Go in its current rendition is a frozen, oven-ready seafood meal for one in a fancy package. Back in the day, Catch to Go was a fresh option which would change weekly depending on seafood availability. Every week we would provide a fish, a sauce and a side along with cooking instructions. I'm thinking of resurrecting that for a month or two to help you through these hectic fall days. Are you a long time Catch customer? What do you think about bringing this back? What were your favorite seafood meals?

New in the Freezer

Salmon burgers were so popular when we cooked them on the grill that we decided to make up a bunch and put them in our freezer! Grab some for a mid-week dinner. $10.99 each.

Whitefish from the Great Lakes

We have filled our orders for the Jewish holiday and have a little bit of Lake Whitefish leftover. If this is your favorite, CALL US NOW to reserve yours.

This Week's Free Wine Tasting: Saturday 3:00-5:00

We're tasting some nice examples of possibly the premier wine appellation in the world, certainly for these three grapes

Vincent Wengier Bourgogne Aligote, 2023 - $ 25.99

100% Aligote

Northern Burgundy, France

Decanter - 92 points for the 2023 vintage, praising its ability to balance acidity and ripeness for a northern Burgundy Aligoté.

The 2023 Domaine Vincent Wengier Bourgogne Aligoté is a refined, mineral-forward white that showcases Aligoté’s potential in Burgundy’s northern chalk soils, offering a refreshing, aromatic profile with a distinctive saline edge. It’s best enjoyed young, within 2–3 years of release

Vincent Wengier Bourgogne Rouge, 2023    - $31.49

100% Pinot Noir

Burgundy, France

Decanter - 91 Points

A new Pinot Noir from a great young winemaking couple in Burgundy.

The nose is composed of red fruits and morello cherries. The palate is generous, balanced by a delicious fruity freshness. The tannins are supple and melted. A classic red burgundy!

Joseph Drouhin Saint-Veran, 2023 - $33.97

100% Chardonnay

Southern Burgundy

James Suckling - 92

A fresh and vivid white with sliced apples, lemons and mineral undertones. Medium-bodied, crisp and bright. Excellent energy for this appellation. Delicious now.

This Week's Special

COHO SALMON

$10.95/6 oz.

STEELHEAD TROUT

$10.95/6 oz.

Choose between famed and wild, Norwegian and Alaskan, salmon and trout. So many decisions, no wrong answer.

Steelhead Trout - 6 oz. portion

Skin on portions of our delicious steelhead trout farmed in Norway.

$10.95

Barramundi

If you didn't get the chance to try barramundi last weekend, no worries! We will have it again on Saturday so you can enjoy it's deliciousness. I mistakenly posted last week that Omega-3 levels in barramundi are as high as coho salmon. One of my sharp eyed, AI friendly, readers pointed it out and I changed the item description immediately. Sorry for misleading you. What I should have said is that it's Omega-3 levels are the highest of any commonly eaten whitefish. Barramundi is mild, buttery and good for you!

Barramundi

Barramundi levels of Omega-3  are the highest of any commonly eaten white fish.  It is low in fat and calories, has a deliciously mild and buttery flavor.

And Finally,

On September 1, 2001, I was working as a Construction Superintendent at a building downtown when Mike called me from his office to say that they had watched a tv broadcast that reported that a plane had hit the World Trade Center. My thoughts were, "Dang that sucks for anyone in that plane and hope everyone in the building was okay." I was pretty steady about it, thinking my usual semi-positive thoughts, but Mike knew better. While we were on the phone he said that they just saw the second plane hit. So much for my positive thinking.

I made my way to the phone room thinking that we had recently connected cable service in the under-construction building so I might be able to get a signal. All the construction workers were squeezed into that little room watching a small TV monitor. That's when I saw it. The smoke, fire and stunned newspeople's faces trying to describe what happened and to speculate on why.

I panicked.

-My cousin lives in New Jersey and often worked in Manhattan. (Thankfully not that day).

-If large cities were going to be attacked, I was standing in the middle of one. -My kids were way up in Gwinnett County at school but I needed to drop everything and get them with me.

The rest of the day was a blur of news watching - the buildings collapsing, the plane crash in Pennsylvania, the Pentagon. America was in the midst of a permanent and sudden change. The country and her people, everyone who was alive and aware enough that day, would never be the same.

The next day was our anniversary and we reluctantly took a trip up to the North Georgia mountains. The overhead signs said "Airport Closed" and there were flags everywhere. We tried to celebrate but our 20th anniversary was not the best day.

So yes, tomorrow is our 45th anniversary which we will celebrate with a little sadness in our hearts.

Blessings, Kathleen
